Oval and Drag Track
Oval Racing Regulations
Oval racing will start with a 30 second count down. A whistle is
blown to start the 30 second clock, a verbal countdown will start at 10
seconds, race begins when the countdown hits zero. Your first lap
counts when you cross the start/finish line after the countdown has
reached zero. There will be no cutting through the course to jockey for
start position, you must maintain the course. Each heat will run 7 laps. Each round of heats will alternate
direction from running counter-clockwise to clockwise. If an odd number
of heats are to be run, there will be a vote by the drivers, if there
is a tie, a coin will be flipped to determine the direction to run.
Missing a buoy and not returning to go around it will take away a lap.
Depending on the number of registries, we will run as many heat
races as we can within the scheduled time. The races will be rewarded
on the points system. The person with the most points at the end of
each race day is the “Days Winner”. We will also reward the racer with
the most combined points from the days of racing as the “Overall
Winner.”
Points
1st = 100 points
2nd = 90 points
3rd = 80 points
4th = 70 points
5th = 60 points
6th = 50 points
Drag Racing
Drag racing will utilize the same track, running inside the buoys.
The drag will be 150’, each driver will have a 25’ lane. Crossing the
centerline will disqualify your run. The first to the finish line is
the winner. The race will start with a 10 second countdown, with the race
starting at zero. During the countdown the boat must not be on plane.
Bringing the boat on plane during the countdown will be considered a
red light, disqualifying the run.
